Susquenita holds off EJ field hockey

On Tuesday, the East Juniata field hockey team lost a heartbreaker against Susquenita 1-0.
In the first Half, Susquenita’s Regan Horting found the back of the cage at 4:36 left.
“The girls played well tonight. They started out slow, but the second showed a different team. The girls kept the ball in Susquenita’s territory and kept the pressure on,” said East Juniata coach Harley Straub. “The girls made several attempts at tying the game, but came up short. We’ll practice and then be ready to play Tuesday.”
Susquenita led in shots on goal by a 21-7 margin while East Juniata led in corners by a 13-11 tally. EJ goalie Madison Beward grabbed 20 while Susquenita goalkeeper Kendra Masser had eight.
In the JV Game, Susquenita picked up the 2-0 victory.
East Juniata’s next game is Tuesday, September 26th at EJ against Line Mountain at 4:00.
