Starting out the evening for the Indians was junior Wyatt Stroup in the boys 800 meter race. He ran a 2:05.68 to take 9th place overall. Mifflin County’s Carter Smith won the boys 800 with a time of 1:55.23. Shortly after the 800 was freshman Sylvia Brubaker and junior Jessie Bomberger competing in the girls 3k race. Sylvia placed 2nd with a time of 11:21.67 while Jessie ran a 13:58.11 to finish 13th. Altoona’s Ashlyn Noce won the girls 3k with a time of 10:38.57. Juniata distance coach Jeff Miller said “Jessie, Sylvia, and Wyatt had a lot of fun tonight. Wyatt set personal best times in the 800 and 3k while Sylvia ran a personal best in the 3k as well. We only participated in three indoor track meets this winter, but they all had fun and gained valuable experience. Their dedication to training over the winter will pay off this spring in track season. I’m super proud of all of them.”
