Tomahawks lose a nail biter to Williamsport

LEWISTOWN – The Mifflin County Tomahawks took on the Willamsport Wildcats in a divisional matchup.

Despite a strong effort, MIfflin County fell 34-32 at their home at Kish Park.

Early on, on the opening drive Lashawn Brown threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver Timmy Beck. Mifflin County attempted a 2-point play but the attempt proved to be un sucessful.

The 2- point conversion plagued Mifflin county in the game as the Tomahawks had one successful attempt in five tries.

James Sweeting scored the first points for the Wildcats. The 2-point attempt was unsucessful as Arthur Brown knocked the ball down to Denie Willamsport tying the game. Jr. Taylor had an eye for the end zone as quarterback Hasson Brockman found Taylor twice in the game.

Taylor was the main target in the first half.

Elliot Walker Found the endzone once against the Tomahawks.

The Mifflin county Quarterback had a rough game throwing five interceptions.

Mifflin County’s Timmy Beck and RJ Buford found the endzone three times.

Kyle Kahley had a few strong runs.

However, later Kahley left the game with an injury.

Teammate Jonathan Dodson filled the shoes of Kahley after he left the l game.

Mifflin County quarterback Brown ran for a touchdown late in the game cutting the lead to 10.

The Tomahawks had a total of nine drives in the game while Willamsport had seven drives.

On the defensive side for Mifflin county, Darion Lopez had a good defensive showing late in the game when The Tomahawks needed it.

Trying to mount a comeback, picked off Wildcats’ quarterback Jordan Bell late in the game.

Mifflin County’s defense was stellar in the second half as points were hard to come by for the Wildcats. Willamsport was held scoreless in the second half as the Tomahawks went on a 20-0 run.

Brown would find Bulford for a late touchdown.

The Wildcats quarterback would seal the game as Bell connected on a pass to Walker to end the comeback hopes for the Tomahawks.

Willamsport survived as the Wildcats defeated the Tomahawks 34-32.
