Yeager & Baublitz lead Indians at Carlisle Invitational

The Juniata boy’s cross country team competed at the Carlisle Invitational on Saturday, September 28.  Clay Yeager led the boys in the Champion race placing 56st in a time of 17:38.0. He was followed by James Hazard placing 106st in a time of 18:12.2.  They were followed by:

Micah Fausey – 298th – 20:32.9

Will Tyson – 309th – 20:44.1

Tim Kelly – 320th – 21:17.2 (personal best)

Isaak Fausey – 353rd – 23:24.9

Garrett Baublitz competed in the Challenge race where he finished 15th overall with a time of 16:08.3.

Coach Miller was pleased with his boy runners.  Garrett fell back midway, but finished strong to move up 13 places in the last 400 meters.  Tim Kelly ran a personal best today.  There were 372 boys in the Champion race and 249 boys in the Challenge race.

The Juniata girl’s team competed in the Champion race.  Sydney Houtz led the Indians with a personal best time of 21:59.5 which placed her 61st overall.  She was followed by Emily Houtz with a time of 22:37.0 for 93rd place.  Other girls competing on the girls side were:

Julia Burns – 302nd – 30:20.9 (personal best)

Katie Hart – 304th – 30:43.9 (personal best)

Joceline Telfer – 308th – 33:58.4 (personal best)

Coach Miller was impressed with Sydney’s race today.  

“She had a personal best by almost 2 minutes,” said Miller.  “Most of the girls ran personal best on the day.  It is nice to see that their hard work and determination is paying off.  There were 312 girls in the race.”

Next up for the Indians is the Paul Short at Lehigh University on Saturday, October 5.
