LEWISTOWN – Although it wasn’t how the HWF wanted their summer to come to an end as chaos reigned supreme during the 2023 Summerfest event Sunday evening.
Summerfest continued right where the last HWF show ended and that was with the Sons of Mifflin County making their presence known and stormed the ring. The trio of Matt Silks, RD Mosh and the Pit Chick were basically questioning the management of the HWF and believe that a certain Jason Havok is secretly planning something against them.

Those comments did not sit too well with President Phil Stamper who came to the ring and reminded TRK that ever since day one when Stamper started working for HWF, that he was the one trying to keep him from going too far in multiple situations. Stamper even went as far as accusing Mosh trying to control Silks mind and also reminded Mosh that he assaulted him at the last show.
In fact, Mosh looked to attack Stamper again and snuck up behind him only for Stamper to duck out of the way and blast Mosh in the face with the microphone before retreating to the back.
The SOMC seemed to be at war with everybody as later on in the show, there was a triple threat match for the PWE Heritage Championship between the champion Derek Wayne, Am Po and Superior G. Wayne and his crew were doing everything in their power to keep the title on Wayne. However, the Pit Chick who has had previous run-ins came into the ring with a kendo stick and began hammering away on them forcing the official to call the match a no contest. But things got even crazier as Pit Chick got into a little scrap with official Ms. Shaw who then proceeded to toss Pit Chick out of the ring.
Havok later found himself in hot water with the fans again after an incredible tag team match for the HWF Tag Team Titles as the returning champs aka Riot City competed against Neverfall to see who will get their first loss in HWF as both teams were undefeated. Ultimately it was Neverfall were remained unbeaten and became the new HWF Tag Team Champions.

There was just one problem, as the new belts were about to be rewarded to Neverfall, Riot City ended up stealing the briefcases and ran off. Havok appeared and put the blame on Neverfall for not getting the belts much to the dismay of the HWF faithful.

But wait, there’s more! In one the feature matches on the card, the Sons of Mifflin County were in tag team action. However their original opponents Big Money Inc were unable to make the show. Stamper decided to give the opportunity to the Connel Brothers Ace and DJ who competed against each other in a dark match. The Brothers stepped up and took the challenge and gave the Sons of Mifflin County everything they could handle. But the experience of the SOMC was too much for them to handle and scored the victory.
At least at first, as the SOMC was celebrating their “victory” Havok and Stamper appeared where Havok accused them of bringing a weapon into the ring and reversed the decision and gave the Connel Brothers the DQ victory. When Havok made that decision, the crowd looked as though they were going to riot. What was interesting about Havok’s decision was that yes there was a cookie sheet in the corner of the ring. However neither the Sons nor Connel Brothers used the weapon. In fact, you could make the argument that neither team knew that it was even there to begin with.
Havok then gave a venomous speech to the audience about how he wants to bring honor to HWF wrestling and how disappointed he was of the fans for supporting rule breakers like the Sons of Mifflin County.
All that remains for many of the HWF who once consider Havok a friend and Mentor to TRK through his dark times as well as many other members of the roster. Many now believe that Havok has a personal vendetta against Silks and left people with more questions than answers.
There was one thing that everyone knew for certain and that was the HWF World Title match between “The Titan” James Ford as he defended against Shane Malice was one of the most intense battles in HWF history. This was by far one of the toughest opponents that Ford has competed against during his title reign. The seats were pretty empty only because everyone was on their feet screaming at the top of their lungs as Ford and Malice duked it out.
In the end, Ford found his opening to finish off Malice and dropped him with the Titanfall for the one, two, three and completed yet another successful title defense. During the press conference after the show, Ford thanked Malice for being one of the people who helped train him and it appears as though the student has become the master. Ford now waits for his next defense. Who will step up to the challenge the HWF World champion? But it is safe to say that “The Titan” will be prepare and is accepting all comers.

Although they were not successful in their tag title defense, Riot City found success as its Kingpin Sicend successfully defended the Kayfabe Junkies Championship against Edward James in a Riot City Rules match which literally had both competitors leave with scars on their bodies.

John Washington appeared at the show and had an open challenge for his AON 814 title which was answered by Isiah Frazier. Despite his best efforts, Frazier fell to Washington only for Washington to come face to face with the returning Steve Steel who has had a few run-ins in the past.
After a sucker punch with a microphone, Washington retreated and then later challenged Steel to a match at a later time during the press conference after the show.
Another highlight came during the HWF Xtreme Heavyweight Championship match between “Wildman” Robbie Paige and “Strong Style” Sledge Gibson. The match was a technical battle where just as you thought Paige had the pin, Gibson quickly found another pinning attempt. And just when you thought Gibson had Paige pinned, Paige pulled something out of his bag of tricks. Move after move, counter after counter, both men were looking for that one big hit to score the fall. That came when Gibson had Paige on the top rope before being head butted off and Paige landed with the Rising Sun Frog Splash to retain the title.

Fan favorite Andrew Loveless found himself in a David versus Goliath battle against RK Sawyer with Lilith by his side. But much like David, Loveless was able to overcome his disadvantages as Lilith accidently smacked Sawyer with her weapon which allowed Loveless to score the victory.
See you all next time for some more HWF Wrestling action.
