It was a tough night on the diamond for the East Juniata Softball team as it fell to Line Mountain 13-2 Monday night in five innings.

Leading the way offensively for the Tigers were Tiana Terry 2-for-3, Ashlynn Searer 2-for-3 and Alyssa Robinson 1-for-3.

Terry and Searer both finished with a double each.

Line Mountain got strong outings from Kya Matter(2-for-4),Taylor Leshack(2-4), Kaely Walshaw (1-for-3), Cheyenne Ebersole (2-for-3), Kalie Mace (2-for-3) and Emily Gonsar (2-for-2).

Kalie Mace took the win for Line Mountain while Becca Dietz took the loss.

Line Mountain got a home run from Matter, a double by Gonsar and Leshack and a triple by Ebersole.

“Errors set us back again beginning in the third and fourth inning. We played a solid first two innings of defense and made hits on offense. We left too many baserunners on offense too,” said East Juniata Coach Lauren Maguire. “The score doesn’t reflect how much better our team played compared to the first two games last week. I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, but we have a lot to continue working on if we want to compete with the rest.”

Next game for EJ is Tuesday at Lebanon Catholic.
