LEWISTOWN – Strodes Mills defeated Reedsville by the final score of 13-4 to clinch the Little League Majors softball championship.

Strodes Mills came into the season with the motto of #ALLGASNOBRAKES and they certainly lived up to that motto as they scored 13 runs on 11 hits for the evening.
Six of those runs came in the bottom half of the first inning starting with Layla Osman who hustled her way down to home plate taking advantage of a passed ball.
Carly Dickson then took her turn at the plate and smacked a double to left that brought home Addie Thornburgh to make it 2-0 Strodes Mills. Then later on in the inning, both Dickson and Emily Porch each scored on throwing errors that helped extend the lead to 4-0. Ava Gipe singled to center to bring home Sarah Bennett and Brenna Benny scored on a wild pitch giving Strodes Mills a 6-0 at the end of one.
However, Reedsville would respond in the top of the second inning scoring two runs in the frame. Macy Pietzsch hit a double to center that brought home Tatum Miller before Pietzsch herself found home plate after a wild pitch making it a 6-2 ball game.
Then in the bottom half of the second, Porch managed to reach base on an error which allowed Dickson to score making it a 7-2 Strodes Mills lead.
Strodes Mills came back for more in the bottom of the third adding three more runs in the frame. Benny got it started, scoring on another Reedsville error before Thornburgh singled in Osman and then Dickson drove in Grayce Napikoski.
But Reedsville continued to battle as in the top of the fourth inning, they added two more runs thanks to both Miller and Morgan Sheetz who scored on an error thrown by the catcher.
Strodes Mills would scored its final three runs of the game in the bottom of the fifth where Dickson had her second double of the game that scored Napikoski and then scored on an error. Then Bennett grounded out to second but brought home Porch.
Dickson was 3-for-4 at the plate for Strodes Mills with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs. Osman went 3-for-3 and scored twice, Thornburgh went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Porch batted 2-for-4.
Dickson also pitched all six innings in the circle for Strodes Mills collecting seven strikeouts and no walks.
For Reedsville, Miller went 2-for-3 and scored twice, Shaylinn Shaffer had a hit in the game as well and Pietzsch was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Jemma Kanagy was in the circle for the Rockets and went five innings and nabbed four strikeouts and three walks for the evening.
