Huskies Volleyball Brings Home the Hardware

The MCHS Volleyball team came out on top at the Bellwood-Antis Invitational Tournament, earning 2nd place in the Silver Bracket.

Starting the day against host and tournament champion Bellwood-Antis, the Huskies battled hard in the 20-25 and 29-27 losses.

The Huskies then played a tough Clarion-Limestone in a 16-25 loss, but fought pack to pick up their first win, 25-21. The Huskies picked up double victories over United, 25-18 and 25-16. They closed out Pool Play with playoff clinching wins over a strong Everett team, winning 25-22 and 25-23.

After earning a bye in the 1st round of playoffs, the Huskies rolled through Bishop Guilfoyle with a 25-6 victory, but fell to Huntingdon 19-25 in the bracket championship.

The Huskies were led today by Dakota Hershberger with 34 kills, 24 digs, and 15 aces; Riley Hine with 15 kills, 7 blocks, 8 aces, and 6 digs; Liv Suydam with 24 digs and 3 aces; and Jamilee Gilbert with 31 assists, 16 digs, and 4 aces.

Gracen Haines- 3 kills, 4 blocks

The Huskies play at home on Monday, September 25 against Juniata Valley and will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Night.
