Juniata boys big third quarter lifts them to win over Newport

It was a great night on the court once again for the Juniata boys basketball team Tuesday as they defeated Newport 42-33.

Leading the charge offensively on the night was Bryson Clark with 15.

Teammate Jamie Bailer finished with 10.

Newport was led by Brooklyn Nunez’s 13.

In the first quarter, the Buffaloes took the lead outscoring Juniata 7-6.

They also posted the same in the second quarter, 7-6.

When the two went into the intermission, the Buffaloes led 14-12.

But things all changed in the second half, the Indians doubled up Newport 18-9 to take the lead.

Leading the way in the third was Clark with 13. He posted three triples in the period as well.

In the final stanza, Juniata once again outscored their opponent but only by a 12-10 margin.

But it was enough to lift the Indians to the victory.
