The Juniata boys soccer team brought it’s A-game against Halifax

Thursday night, topping the Wildcats 6-2 in TVL action.

Bryce Rush led the offensive strike, finishing with a hat trick.

“The coaching staff asked the team to learn from and respond to a disappointing loss earlier this week. Every player on the field did a fantastic job responding to the loss. Bryce Rush kept his composure in front of the goal and did not waste his opportunities,” said coach Jared Byler.

In the first half, Halifax kept it close, keeping the Indians to just one goal.

With 29:07 on the board, Juniata’s Will Saner scored off an assist from Bryce Rush.

Halifax would tie the game going into the intermission, scoring at 7:54.

Coming out of the intermission, Halifax took the lead at 29:43.

However, Juniata started its comeback just minutes later. At 26:39 Rush scored from an assist from Saner, knotting the game back up.

Just a little over three minutes later Juniata took back the lead when again Rush scored off another assist by Saner, this time at 23:11 mark.

The Indians started to find the open shots against the Wildcats. At 18:57, Dawson Harper put his name in the scorebook thanks to an assist by teammate Jelvin Cardenas, upping it to a 4-2 advantage.

Juniata  added one insurance goal at 14:05. Again Bryce would get the nod. This time it would be an assist from Henry Revis.

Rush gave his team one last goal with 9:36 to ice the game. The assist again came from Revis.

The Indians finished with a 14-7 advantage on shots on goal while Halifax got the nod in the corner kicks department by a 6-4 advantage.
