Juniata girls continue to shine; Drops Newport

Juniata got a 16-point effort from Maylin Kint and 13 points from teammates Myra Rush and Chloe Zendt as the Lady Indians took care of Newport 54-31 Wednesday night.

Newport got an 11-point effort from Peyton Splain and a 10-point performance from Emily Kline.

The Indians led the entire way, outscoring the Buffaloes in all four quarters en route to 23-point win.

“Big Red” led off the game, outscoring Newport 17-10 after one.

Leading the way were Laney Dowling and Kint with six. 

Things continued to roll for Juniata in the second as it held Newport to seven while scoring 10.

When the two teams went into the half, the Lady Indians led 27-17.

In the third quarter, Juniata held Newport once again to single digits while it hit 13.

Juniata clinched things in the final period as the rounded out the contest on a 14-8 margin.
