Juniata girls hit speed bump against Susquenita

Wednesday, the Juniata girls softball team hit a little hiccup in its attempt for a state championship as they were knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten by a 2-0 loss against TVL powerhouse Susquenita.

Juniata pitcher Liz Gaisior still had a strong outing striking out 15 and allowed only four hits. She still leads the state in strikeouts with 208 on the season.

The Lady Indians’ bats were quieted as they only were able to muster three hits off Ayahna Fleisher, who got the win.

Picking up hits for Juniata were Lexi Frontz, Sophia Smith and Regan Lowery.
The only runs in the game were played in the sixth inning.
B Prinz opened with a double into right field.

Fleisher helped her own cause as she blasted a home run, putting the Blackhawks ahead for good at 2-0.
