Mifflin County honors 15 student athletes moving onto next level

Lewistown – Mifflin County High School honored the 15 student athletes for their hard, relentless dedication and desire of excellence in the classroom,sports and the community on Wednesday night in the school’s auditorium.

These students that were honored tonight have shown such great success all fifthteen students will go onto do special things in the future. These 15 students are so grateful for their family coaches and teachers and everyone that has supported them through the years. 

The two brave strong men will go on to serve our country Garrett Miller Will enlist in the U.S Army Quinn Miller will enlist in the National Guard. 


Brynn Knepp will Major in Medical Laboratory Science Knepp was a soccer captain,Mini Thon Co President.

“My leadership roles and new confidence will help me in college,” said Knepp.

Calin Mcknight is committed to Clarion University majoring in Exercise Science McKnight played baseball,football.

Xavier Smith is committed to Millersville majoring in Sports Business Smith has been a great baseball star from youth baseball carrying into his babe ruth days into Highschool Smith is a strong talented young man.

“Being positive, being myself and having lots of confidence. I’m the best version of myself when i’m confident,” said Smith.

Farrell Sounders  is committed to Holy Family University Sounders is majoring in Pre-Med he will play baseball for the Tigers.


Caden Bell is committed to Lebanon Valley College Bell will go onto to run track and cross country he is majoring in Physical Therapy,Bell was also involved in Stem as an intern Key Club and Medical Careers club.

Jayden Bilger will attend Juniata College. Bilger will major in Business and will play basketball.

Landen Eichorn will attend Juniata College to major in Sports Management or Education. Eichorn will also play baseball for the Eagles.

Dakota Hershberger will attend Saint Vincent College majoring in Biology and Pre Med Hershberger will play Volleyball and Softball. 

Dakota Hershbeger I have had some very great coaches. “My coaches have always pushed me to do my best. I’ll continue to do my best expecting things to go wrong,” said Hershberger. Being able to adjust when things go wrong and carrying my success.”

Isaac Parks Gill will be attending Gettysburg College Parks Gill will be majoring in computer science he will play for the Bullets in Football and Track and Field. 

“I just think doing all the sports is going to help with time management. I think I’m going to have a good career in athletics and academics in college,” said Parks Gill.

Alexis O’brien will attend Elizabethtown College majoring in Occupational Therapy she will begin going onto play softball for the Blue Jays.

John Paul Pannizzo will attend Albright College Majoring in Sports Marketing Pannizzo will play baseball at the University.

Aidan Reed will be attending Juniata College to play football Reed will be majoring in History Education. Reed played baseball and football in highschool.

Alaina Sharp will be attending Allegheny College Sharp will be majoring in Biology.
