Powerful Pitching Performance From Elizabeth Gaisior Carries Juniata Past East Juniata

Elizabeth Gaisior was dominant in the circle, as the southpaw rang up 15 strikeouts in Juniata’s 9-1 victory over East Juniata on Thursday. Gaisior gave up five hits and one run over seven innings while walking none.
The Indians got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Shalelyn Armstrong walked, Victoria Moore walked, Alexea Frontz scored after tagging up, and Alexa Kuhn singled, each scoring one run.
Juniata scored one run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run to center field by Frontz.
Annika Martin hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the sixth for the East Juniata Jr/Sr HS.
Marley Wilson took the loss for East Juniata. She went six innings, giving up nine runs on 11 hits, striking out two and walking eight.
The Indians amassed 11 hits in the game. Frontz provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Juniata with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Kuhn, the Indians’ number eight hitter, led the team with three hits in four at-bats. Regan Lowery and Sophia Smith each collected multiple hits. Armstrong paced her team with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Lowery stole two bases.
Martin set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading East Juniata with two hits in three at bats.
