Juniata wins OT battle at Hershey Park over Lower Dauphin

Hershey Park Happy!

The Juniata football team took to the road Friday night with hopes to upping its record to 2-1 on the season as it went up against Lower Dauphin.

It would be a battle but in the end, the Indians came out with the victory.

Playing at Hershey Park Stadium, Juniata made a defensive statement late that would help them come out the victors of a 21-14 overtime win over the Falcons.

Juniata got the scoring started early in the first as GG Ortiz scored from 7-yards out to put the Indians ahead 6-0. With the Ben Wagner extra point, it would be a 7-0 contest.

Lower Dauphin answered back with a first quarter score of its own.

Jacob Kauffman broke loose fro

16-yards out and scored. With the PAT, the game was tied at seven.

The Falcons scored again to take the lead for the first time in the second period.

Ethan Miller busted his way through the line for a 2-yard touchdown run. Add to it a successful PAT and the Falcons started to spread their Wings

But that wouldn’t be the case on this night.

Ortiz would notch his second touchdown of the night when he caught a 14-yard TD catch from Juniata quarterback Jacob Condo, tying things at 14.

Neither team could score on either defense in the final stanza forcing it into overtime.

From there, the Indians put the game in the win column when Condo called his own number from three yards out for the winning TD.
