Lady Indians top Greenwood in six-inning contest
The Juniata girls softball team heads into Monday’s meeting with rival East Juniata on a winning note as they picked up a 15-5 victory Thursday against Greenwood.
Pitcher Abby Adair picked up the. Victory as the Lady Indians improved to 2-4 on the season.
Leading the way offensively for Juniata was Hunter Johns (3-for-3). She was a triple short of the cycle. She highlighted the night with a home run. Teammate Laney Dowling also connected with a round tripper in the victory.
Kali Foltz also handled a hot bat, going 3-for-5.
Adair helped her own cause as she went 2-for-3 while teammate Olivia Laub rounded out the multi-hit performances with a 2-for-5 effort.
Juniata took an early 5-0 advantage going into the bottom of the third.
Greenwood battled back for two in the bottom of the inning before the Lady Indians posted a 6-run fourth.
Juniata never looked back and went on for the runaway victory.
