EJ finishes late comeback attempt for win

The East Juniata baseball team defeated TVAA rival Greenwood Friday night 4-2.

It was a good way for the Tigers to end the week as they have won 3-out-of-4.

East Juniata stole victory from the agony of defeat as they started their last at bats trailing 2-1.

However, the Tigers weren’t going to go down without a fight.

In the seventh, Wyatt Weges started out the inning with a walk. He would move into scoring position on a passed ball.

With two outs, teammate Clark Ritzman was plunked by a Wildcat offering.

East Juniata loaded the bases on a Kolten Martin walk.

Kelton Bonnell cleared the bases, notching a triple. Bonnell scored Martin, Ritzman and Weges to take the lead at 4-2.

East Juniata’s defense held in the final Greenwood at bats to take home the victory.

Both teams were limited on offense, both posting only four hits each.

Bonnell roped two hits for his team in the victory.

Picking up the win was Martin.
