MC track has strong performance in Altoona; Simmons takes Outstanding athlete at the Mt. Lion Classic

Mifflin County Track and Field had a lot of good performances on the track today at the Mt Lion Classic hosted by Altoona Area High School. Senior Myka Simmons won the Outstanding Performer for AAA Boys, winning the 100 and 400 and taking second in the 200. He continues to chip away at the 100m dash school record with a 10.90 finish in the finals. Caden Bell, Wyatt Kauffman, Tylor Druckemiller, and Carter Bell ran a great time of 8:00.05 in the 800, taking second in the event. Carter Smith added a third first-place performance for the team in the 800 with a school record breaking time of 1:53.94. Also adding to the boy’s team score were Michael McNitt (110 hurdles), Wyatt Kauffman (400), Caden Bell (800), Tylor Druckemiller (1600), Koy Aurand (3200), and Ethan Plank (Long Jump). On the girl’s team, Lyza Underhill qualified for the finals in the 100m dash, taking 8th place with a time of 13.35.
