Lady Little Lions use 20-point third to lift them over MC

In girls action, the State College girls traveled to Mifflin County to battle the Lady Huskies.

Mifflin County’s shooting was held in check for the most part, only scoring 28.

State College manage to take the contest, winning 43-28 at the Mifflin County gym Friday night.

Leading the offensively for Mifflin County was Molly Wagoner with 12.

State College got 17 from Izzy Leazier.

Teammate Maya Bokunewicz chipped in with 11.

State College led after one period, 13-6. 

Leading the scoring punch was Bokunewicz with five and Leazier with six.

Mifflin County got triples from Fern Selfies and Hannah Aumiller.

The Huskies won the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Little Lions 8-5, cutting the State College lead to 18-14 at the intermission.

But the third quarter seemed to take any momentum from Mifflin County as the Little Lions erupted for 20 while holding the Huskies to eight.

In the final stanza, State held MC to just six. 

Mifflin County’s defense was also tough, allowing only five for State. 

But it wasn’t enough for the Lady Huskies as the fell to State by 15.
