Little Lions fall late to pesky Chambersburg team

Friday night, the State College softball team and Chambersburg found them into quite a Mid-Penn battle.

In the end, the Trojans were able to take home the 4-3 hard fought victory over the Little Lions. The game would be a stalemate going into the fifth.

With the loss, State College falls to 9-3 on the year.

Leading the offense for the Lady Little Lions were Sydney Wells, Tori Kroboth, Gabby Todd and Harper Campbell. They all posted hits for State College.

Chambersburg scored first, taking the lead going into the second 1-0.

State tied the contest as pinch runner Ruby True scored on a Wells’ fielders choice.

Well’s triple in the top of the fifth helped lead State College to a 3-1 advantage.

But the lead was temporary as Chambersburg rallied for two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

The Trojans added a run late to take the contest.
