MC girls soccer shines against Waynesboro

Playing in the late 5:30 game, the Mifflin County girls soccer team took care of Waynesboro Tuesday night, winning 5-2.
Aubrey Strohecker led the Huskies in the scoring department posting a hat trick in the victory.
Waynesboro held the advantage in shots on goals by a 19-14 margin and held a 6-1 lead in corners.
However, the Huskies would lead in the most important category, shots scored.
Strohecker got the scoring started when she hooked up on a pass from Brynn Knepp past the Waynesboro goalie at 7:36.
About 10 minutes later Strohecker was at it again as she scored her second goal with 17:36.
Knepp was able to blast one past the goalie as well as she scored off a penalty kick at 27:37.
Holding a 3-0 lead, the Lady Huskies added to its lead late in the game. Ella Kammerer scored off an assist from Brynn Knepp at 45:25.
Waynesboro need the shut out when AJ Vedell scored on an unassisted goal at 62:46.
Strohecker put the game out of reach when she took a pass from Ella Kammerer and posted her hat trick at 73:24.
Waynesboro did not give up when Grace French added a goal at 77:10 making it a 5-2 victory for the Huskies.
Mifflin County goalie Bailey McNitt finished with 17 saves while Waynesboro’s Kiaya Mouer stopped nine.
MifflinCounty improves to 2-0 in the Mid-Penn and 2-1 Overall.
The Huskies next game is 9/23 at home vs Lower Dauphin.
