MC’s Cubbison finishes 12th out of 200 runners at the Foundation Invitational

On Saturday the Mifflin County Girls Cross Country team traveled to the PIAA Foundation Invitational.

Kylee Cubbison brought home a top 20 medal coming in 12th place in the AAA Gold race.

“Kylee looked strong and has been continuing to grow in her confidence as she moves through her senior year,” said Neil Breneman. “I am proud of her going for it today and putting in a strong effort that was successful at bringing home a medal.”

The Foundation Invitational course in Hershey is the same course that the PIAA State Championships are held in November. Coming into today, Addie and Kylee have both competed on the course for states. “This was another great experience for both of them as I expect they will both be working hard to qualify for states again,” said Breneman. “The more experience they have on a course, the better strategies they can develop to break it down and run using their strengths. It is a hard course with plenty of hills to tackle.”

“For the other girls running the course was fun for them, whether it’s because they may have a chance to go to States in the future or just experiencing the same course and environment. They didn’t let the challenges of the course deter them from going at it hard and pushing themselves to do well.”

Tuesday Mifflin County  heads to Cumberland Valley for a Tri-meet with Cumberland Valley and Carlisle.
