Mechanicsburg spoils Lady Huskies night; tops MC 64-40

It was a tough night on the court for the MIfflin County girls basketball team Wednesday as the Lady Huskies fell to Mechanicsburg 64-40.

MIfflin County’s offense was led by Marissa Gingrich who netted a game-high 23 points.

Mechanicsburg got 17 from Emma Castilla and 13 from teammate Gracen Nutt.

In the first, Mechanicsburg came out hot, outscoring MIfflin County 20-9.

Things continued to roll for Mechanicsburg as it posted another 18 points in the second and allowed the Lady Huskies only 10 points in the quarter.

Going into the intermission, Mechanicsburg held a 38-19.

Coming out of the half, Mechanicsburg continued to outscore the Huskies, 13-9.

That would be all the team would need as it held off MIfflin County in the final quarter to notch the 64-40 win.
