Mifflin County baseball falls to Cedar Cliff in extra innings

It was an extra inning affair Wednesday afternoon for the Huskies baseball team as they fell to Cedar Cliff 3-2 in eight innings.

Offensively, the Huskies got two hits each from Xavier Smith and Calin McKnight. Smith also had an RBI.

Mifflin County struck first, posting a run in the first.

Tucker Gill led off with a walk. He moved to third on a Ryan Hine single.

That set the stage for McKnight.

McKnight sent an RBI single to right, allowing Gill to score.

Mifflin County scored again in the third as Xavier Smith “went yard” for the solo home run, upping it to 2-0.

But the Colts tied the contest in the fifth.

The game would continue on until the eighth inning when Cedar Cliff would bring home the winning run.
