Mifflin County swimmers compete in D6 Championships

UNIVERSITY PARK – After returning to pool after a season of not competing, the MIfflin County swim team made quite the splash this past weekend as they competed in the District 6 swimming championships held at Penn State’s Natatorium.

The Huskies went head-to-head with the best in Class AAA.

Two girls relay teams represented the “purple and black” while teammate Jacob Kratzer participated in the 50-meter freestyle and the 100-meter freestyle.

On day one, the girls medley relay got the team going as they rallied to place 3rd. The relay consisted of Alexis Anderson swimming back, Cameron Shuey swimming breast, Aubrey Evans swimming fly, and Amilia Coffey swimming free.

The girls also swam a 200 free relay and came in 4th.

The relay team consisted of Kelsey Marks, Cameron Shuey, Aubrey Evans, and Amilia Coffey.

Kratzer, who competed as an independent last year, placed 5th in the 50 free.

Kratzer also finished fifth in the 100 free style on Saturday to conclude the team’s competition.

“The kids worked hard all season and their dedication showed this weekend,” said Mifflin County coach We are really proud of them for pushing through the last few weeks. Brining home medals and ribbons is always exciting! The kids deserve it.”

The D6 Championships concludes the season for the Huskies.
