Mifflinburg defeats Juniata in girls soccer

MIFFLINTOWN – In an out of conference match up, the Juniata girls soccer team fell to Mifflinburg 6-2.
The Indians got on the board first when
Josie Swartz caught a pass from Sydney Sheaffer and tickled the twine at the 5:30 mark.
Mifflinburg’s Reagan Griffith tied the game when she caught a pass from Macie
Schnure at the 19:04 mark.
That would start a list of five unanswered goals, putting them in a strong position.
Kay Wenrick kept things going from Reagan Griffith at 28:18.
Then teammate Macie Schnure followed with an unassisted goal at 33:15.
Griffith hit her second goal of the game after a pass from Angelina Feliciano at 41:20.
Feliciano then called her own number as she notched an unassisted goal with .49:45
Juniata got back on the board as Josie Swartz picked up an assist from Ellie Shepps with 54:32, making it 6-2.
Riley Griffith scored the last goal of the game placing an unassisted goal at 57:50.
Mifflinburg led in shots on goal by a margin of 16-7.
In Corners, Juniata held the 3-2 advantage.
Juniata goalie Kali Foltz had eight saves while teammate Mahala Laub had two.
“Tonight we simply ran into a better team,” Juniata coach Brian Strawser said. “Mifflinburg definitely showed us what we need to improve on. Proud of the girls for playing strong throughout the game. ”
