More of Bellefonte’s Finest: Jackson interviews Garrison and Howell

Editor’s Note: Recently Tara Jackson got a chance to catch up with Bellefonte athletes Senior Grady Garrison and Junior Aden Howell and talked about their athletic career and upcoming high school sports season.

HS: How long have you played the current sports you are in?

GG:I’ve currently done football for 5 years, wrestling for 13 years, track and field for two years, as well as cross country for one year.

AH: I have played football ever since I was five years old

HS: What is one piece of advice you’d like to offer younger athletes?

GG: A piece of advice I would give to younger athletes is to stay motivated and have hope through everything even if things aren’t going your way in the moment, they will soon enough.

AH:  A piece of advice I’d like to give to the younger athletes is to never give up on anything, no matter how difficult that thing may be to achieve.

HS: Who is someone you look up to?

GG: Someone I look up to are my parents because they not only push me to be a better athlete but also a better person.

AH:I look up to multiple different people, those being athletes, adults in my life, and anyone that helps to influence my life.

HS: What are your goals for your sports this upcoming school year?

GG: Some goals for my sports throughout my senior year include winning a district title in football, state medalist in track and field, state qualifier in cross country, and a district finalist in wrestling.

AH: My goal for this football season is to be able to make an impact on the team.

HS: Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a great athlete?

GG:Some strengths I believe that make me a good athlete are my level of confidence, and desire to be better.

AH: I believe I have the strength of being intelligent, helping me to be able to understand and analyze what is going on in the game. I would also say I have the strength of not giving up, no matter what the situation is that I may be in I can also push through.

HS: What are your plans after high school?

GG:My plans after high school include attending one of the United States military academies.

AH: I plan on going into college to be an educator, I also would like to play football in college and try to pursue my goal to be a professional.

HS: Is there a coach or teammate who has gone above and beyond and pushed you more than anyone?

GG: All my coaches from youth sports to high school level sports, have pushed me to be a better person not only on the field but also off the field.

AH: My football coach, Coach Confer has pushed me during practices and lifts to be the best athlete I can be.
