Mount Union soccer falls by two to Forbes Road

Tonight was not the Mount Union soccer team’s night.

The Trojans fell to Forbes Road 2-0.

Forbes scored two in the first half. They had seven shots on goal the first half.

Mount Union’s first goalie Ryan Dountas was able to save five of them.

The Trojans goalie for the second half was Caleb Miller and he was able to save 5 of the 5 shots on goal that half.

“I was finally able to have the majority of my team there. I had a few players running cross country so they came in late and I still have a few players out due to injury,” said Mount Union coach Jacob Scott. “I have to say this was our best performing game. I know the score doesn’t show that but they played the majority of the game the way I know they should be. There is still plenty we have to work on and that will be the case for the next few years but we connected a lot of passes and were able to maintain position for longer then 2 to 3 passes. We had some well timed crosses that ended in a few one touch attempts and a nice header but the ball just would not go into the net. I’m looking forward to getting the team ready for a 3 game back to back series starting on Tuesday.”
