Penns Valley outlasts Juniata in Boys Ram Winter Jam action

SPRING MILLS – The Juniata boys basketball team found itself in a battle in the second day of basketball action in a Thursday thriller against Penns Valley in the Ram Winter Jam.

The Rams were able to outlast the Indians 34-33.

Jasper Shepps led Juniata with 13 points.

Grant Reinford followed up with seven. Bryce Rush rounded out the top three scorers with six.

Penns Valley got 12 points from Jackson Romig. Fletcher Ironside followed up with an 8-point effort.

The Rams got off to a strong start as its offense posted seven while holding the Indians to just one point.

Juniata rallied back in the second as its offense came alive outscoring Penns Valley 15-10.

As the two teams went into the intermission Penns Valley held a 17-16 advantage.

Coming out of the intermission, the Rams and Indians battled offensively with Penns Valley outscoring Juniata 14-13 to take a 2-point lead going into the final stanza.

The Indians were able to outscore the Rams 5-4 but it wasn’t enough as Juniata ran out of time, falling by one.
