Game Overview:

Penns Valley used a proficient and balanced attack with finishes from five different players to record their 4th win and move above the .500 mark on Saturday morning.

“In our pre-game tactical chat, I told my guys that we needed more shots, more finishes, and scoring from multiple players,” said Penns Valley Head Coach Ken Gore, “They checked every box – how can I not love that kind of methodical execution?!”

Junior midfielder Cole Felker opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a quick follow-up shot at the left near post, then two more strikes by junior forward Aidan Culver and senior midfielder Caleb Narber closed the scoring in the first 40 minutes. In the second 40, an additional two finishes by senior midfielder Michael Johnson and senior forward Zach Heckman kept the match well out of reach for a young, inexperienced opponent. Penns Valley continually brought a relentless attack throughout the match and had many other chances to score more with through balls behind the defense and shots wide or high just off-frame.

“We’re going to keep working on greater precision to finish better,” said coach Gore “we really should have scored at least 3 or 4 more times in the match. Nevertheless, it was another good win for us and I’m extremely happy with what we’re doing. I reminded them again today that we are a good team – but are on the verge of becoming an exceptionally good team! Once we reach that level, there are no limits to what we can do the rest of the season.”

Record: 4-3
