Penns Valley softball sweeps Central

Get out the brooms.

The Penns Valley softball team swept Central Tuesday in a rare double header. Both games were played at Penns Valley.

Game 1:

Penns Valley took the opener 15-3.

Allie O’Brien notched the victory with five strikeouts, walk, and a hit batter.

Losing pitcher for Tyrone was Lacey Lynn she finished with three strikeouts, four walks, and a hit batter.

Penns Valley posted five early runs in the first three innings and never looked back as it pounded out 14 hits as well.

Leading the offensive charge were

  Allie O’Brien (2 singles, HR (grand slam), 5 RBIs, 2 runs scored), Avery Dinges (single, 2 runs scored), Kendra Bumgardner (double, HR, 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored), Noelle Webb (2 doubles, 2 RBIs, run scored),

 Jordan Anderson (single, RBI),

  Leah Meyer (run scored),Kailen Winkelblech (2 singles, 2 runs scored), Avelyn Van Heyst (run scored) and Scotty Dinges (2 singles, 2 runs scored, RBI, stolen base).

Central finished with three runs, five hits, while committing three errors.

Game 2:

Penns Valley took the second game by the 10-run rule, winning 13-3.

Winning pitcher for Penns Valley was Kendra Bumgardner with eight strikeouts and two walks.

Losing pitcher for the Dragons was Madison Kennedy finishing with a strikeout and two walks.

Again, the Lady Rams finished with 13 hits.
