Spikes fall to the Frederick Keys in Friday action

UNIVERSITY PARK – The Frederick Keys Started a 3-game series At Medlar Field against The State College Spikes.

The Keys pitchers limited State College to two hits while striking out 12 Spikes Batters in 38 at bats shutting out State College 6-0. Second baseman Jack Riedel collected two hits in three trips to the plate.

That would be the only hits in the game for State College.

Right hander Ben Harris gave his team two innings, giving up five hits and three runs.  Harris would be handed the Loss.

The Spikes struck out five batters In 38 at bats, issuing six total walks In the loss.

Frederick batters had their way Racking up 13 hits.

Tervell Johnson Was a hard out For State College tonight with three hits driving in two runs.

Luca Danos,Kendrey Maduro,Irvin Escobar,Jordan Hamburg recorded hits in the game.

Hamburg Is a versatile player who is listed at a pitcher and a position player.

Corbin Foy had ‘lights out’ stuff giving his team four innings allowing just one hit which came off a double hit by Riedel.

In the home half of the first inning, Foy walked two batters, striking out three Spikes Hitters thanks to help from the Keys Bullpen. They had great showings.

State College left nine total runners on base The Spikes went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

The Keys left 11 on base going 4-for-15 with runners in scoring position.

The Keys showed great hitting at the plate and the Bullpen backed up the quality starting pitching from right hander Foy to hand State College their third straight loss. Spikes Keys will play again on Saturday At Medlar Field At Lubrano Park First Pitch is scheduled for 6:35 It will Be HealthCare Appreciation Night Following the Game It will be Firework Night at the Ballpark.
