Bald Eagle Area baseball heads to final four in PIAA action

Tyler Serb shut down Karns City Varsity Gremlins, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Bald Eagle Area to a 6-0 victory on Thursday

The Bald Eagles pulled off the big victory without ever scoring many runs in an inning. The most they scored was two in the fifth.

Bald Eagle Area fired up the offense in the first inning.  Tayten Yoder hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Karns City was a single by Mike Neff in the second inning.

Serb pitched the Bald Eagles to victory. The righty surrendered zero runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out nine and walking zero.

Mason Sherwin was on the pitcher’s mound for Karns the Gremlins. Sherwin went five innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and striking out two.  Neff threw one inning in relief.

Bald Eagle Area racked up ten hits in the game.  Kaden Burns, Parker Quick, and Justin Bisel all managed multiple hits for the Bald Eagles.  Bisel, Quick, and Burns each managed two hits to lead Bald Eagle.

Neff led Karns City with two hits in three at bats.
