State College falls to Manheim Township in last minute of PIAA District 3 Second Round Playoff

The very successful season of State College High School field hockey came to an end this afternoon following a 2-3 loss to Manheim Township in the second round of the PIAA District 3 Playoffs. It was a close game throughout with State College’s Quinn Colburn scoring the first goal at 10:47 in the second period following an assist by midfielder Hannah Garlin. Manheim Township answered in short order with a goal at 5:37 in the second by Calli Campagna on a penalty corner (one of Manheim Township’s fifteen of the game). Manheim Township stuck again at 3:20 in the third with a successful penalty stroke lifted to the top right of the goal by Brooke Weaver. State College tied at 8:38 in period four on a successful penalty corner (the only one of the game awarded to State College) by Lanie Herlocher with assists by Ella Tambroni and Hannah Garlin. State College’s 2022 season ended when Manheim Township scored on another corner by Elle Commerce with an assist by Brenna Campagna with only 45 seconds left
