Tough night for Juniata baseball and softball teams on the diamond

It was a tough night for the Juniata softball team and the baseball team as both fell to Tri-Valley League opponent Halifax Thursday.

Errors and early runs were too much for the Juniata baseball team to overcome as the Indians fell to the Halifax Wildcats 11-2 in TVL baseball action.
The Indians had five errors for the whole game and Halifax took advantage at the plate driving in at least a run in five of the seven total innings played.
The lone Juniata RBI came from Matt McWilliams who knocked in Jace White with a single to left field. Grant Reinhold later added the second run off a wild pitch.
McWilliams and White were two of the six batters along with Will Orwig, Logan Kehler, Logan Pannebaker and Reinhold all had a hit in the game.
Orwig got the start for Juniata and pitched the first four innings of the game. Orwig recorded six strikeouts and no walks.
Dawson Harper pitched the next one and two-thirds innings with a strikeout and walked three batters before handing the ball over to Cody Fornwalt who pitched the final one and two-thirds innings with a strikeout.

In the girls contest, the Indians fell 17-2 in 3 innings.

With the loss Juniata is now 1-2, and Halifax is 2-0.

Olivia Laub, Cheyenne Kirk, Madilynn Bruce, and Shalelyn Armstrong each had a hit.

Next Game for Juniata is against UDA on Monday.
