Bald Eagle girls fall in marathon 2OT thriller to Clearfield

They battled to the end.

The Bald Eagle Area girls soccer team took Clearfield to two overtimes before falling 3-2.

“The girls fought really hard tonight and I’m very proud of how they handled themselves in the face of adversity,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “It was a tough one to swallow, but we are going to move on and look forward to the next game.”

Bald Eagle goalie Rachel Veneziano was tough in goal, finishing with 13 while the Bisons’ Cayleigh Walker finished with nine.

Clearfield outshot the Lady Eagles 16-11.

Bald Eagle led in corners by a 5-3 Margin.

Georgia Cingle scored on unassisted goal for Bald Eagle while Falen McHenry off an assist from Georgia Cingle had the two Eagles goal.

BEA Is now 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the Mountain League.
