East Juniata Girls outlast Bloomsburg 2-1

The unbeaten streak moves to three as the East Juniata girls soccer team outlasted Bloomsburg 2-1 Saturday.

The defensive core made adjustments after the bloom goal and handled the remaining 73 mins comfortably. Overall the girls controlled the game, moved the ball nicely and did what we’re looking to do,” said East Juniata coach Valeria Dressler. “We struggled in our attacking third but it’s the second game so we have time to work on it.  great effort from the girls tonight.”

Bloomsburg got on the board first at the 7-minute mark.

Kierstyn Fogle tied the gam as she was assisted by Thea Neimond at 19:15.

With time running out, Neimond got the call as she blasted an unassisted game-winning goal at 73:09.

Shots on goal for the Tigers were 10 while Bloomsburg had three.

East Juniata also led in corner kicks by a 4-2 margin.

Keeper saves had EJ’s Brianna Henry post two while Bloomsburg tallied eight.

East Juniata’s overall record is 3-0-0 while its 1-0 in TVL action.

 The Tigers are back in action Tuesday 9-10-19against Susquenita.
