East Juniata sweeps Susquenita in double dip

COCOLAMUS – It was a great day for the East Juniata softball as they were able to complete a sweep of Susquenita.

In game one, the Lady Tigers defeated the Blackhawks in an offensive contest, 12-11.

After trailing 3-0 going into the third, East Juniata tied things at three.

But in the bottom of the inning, the Blackhawks took back the lead adding three runs, making it a 6-3 advantage.

Again, the Tigers battled back to tie the game in the top of the sixth but Susquenita again added runs in the bottom of the inning, taking an 11-6 lead.

East Juniata was clutch under pressure as they battled back to knot things at 11, forcing the contest to head into the eighth inning.

The Lady Tigers sealed the deal with a run in the eighth, winning 12-11.

Brenna Watts took the win for the EJ staff.

Finishing with strong offensively were Annika Martin (3-for-6, single, 2 doubles, RBI), Carlee Barrick (1-for-5, single), Watts (1-for-6, 2 singles and RBI), Tiana Terry (3-for-5, 3 singles), Alyssa Robinson (4-for-5, 2 singles, double, HR, 6 RBIs), Erin Sheaffer (1-for-5, single), Emma Willow (1-for-4, single, RBI) and Lexi Stuck (2-for-4, 2 singles).

Game 2

East Juniata took the momentum they finished with in game one and took it to the second as they defeated Susquenita 12-2 in five innings.

Picking up five runs in the second and fourth propelled the Lady Tigers to victory.

Picking up the win for EJ in the contest was Watts once again.

Leading the way at the plate were Annika Martin (4-for-5, 4 singles, RBI), Watts (2-for-2, 2 singles, RBI), Tiana Terry (2-for-4, 2 singles, RBI), Alyssa Robinson (3-for-4, 3 singles, 3RBIs), Erin Sheaffer (1-for-3, double), Emma Willow (3-for-3, 3 singles, RBI, Macy Buskey (4-for-4, 3 singles, double, RBI) and Lexi Stuck 1-for-3, single)

With the win, East Juniata improves to 7-3 overall and 6-2 in TVL action)

The Next game for the Lady Tigers is today at Millersburg.

Baseball

The East Juniata baseball team improves to a record of 7-9 with its win over Susquenita 10-1.

Next Game is scheduled for Thursday vs. Juniata.
