East Juniata tops Susquenita; Collects 10th win

A perfect 10!

Wednesday the East Juniata girls soccer team improved to a perfect 10-0 record, defeating Susquenita 6-1.

“It was a sloppy first half put us at 1-1to begin the second. Turned out to be a good experience for the girls because of how Susquenita packed their defensive end,” said East Juniata coach Valeria Dressler. “This forced movement and quick passes between the girls which resulted in quality goals. Much better second half.”

Thea Neimond gave East Juniata the lead after she was assisted by Leah Sankey at 11:00.

Susquenita’s Maddison Boreman tied things at one on an unassisted goal at 20:25.

In the second half, Thea Neimond put the Lady Tigers ahead on an unassisted goal at 48:05.

3) Kierstyn Fogle scored the next two goals on unassisted opportunities at 53:21 and 53:46, upping it up to a 4-0 advantage.

Sankey added another goal on an assist by Thea Neimond at 59:54.

Clarye Guyer ended the game’s scoring posting an unassisted goal of her own at 68:54.

East Juniata had 14 shots on goal and five corner kicks.

EJ Keeper saves Brianna Henry had six saves.

The Tigers overall record is 10-0-0 while posting a TVL record of 6-0.
