Huskies drop Home game to Red Land

LEWISTOWN – it just wasn’t their night.
In a busy week on the diamond for the Mifflin Huskies, the Huskies fell to a tough Red Land team Thursday 11-2 at home.
The one-loss Patriots showed why they are at the top of the Mid-Penn as they pounded out 13 hits.
Taking the loss for Mifflin County was Conner Yoder while Mitchell Robinson picked up the victory.
Offensively, Red Land opened the game quickly scoring four runs in the first and two in the second, making it 6-0.
Mifflin County battled back in the bottom of the second and cut the Patriots lead to four.
Aaron Kanagy led off with a single to left. Evan Smith came into pinch run for Kanagy. Smith moved up to second on a fielders choice by Noah Wright.
He later moved up to third on an Evan Mock ground out.
Tyreen Smalley joined Smith on base via a walk.
Both scored thanks to a Nick Hostetler double, making it 6-2.
But that would be as close as the Huskies would get on the afternoon as Red Land added two in the third, one in the fifth and two more in the seventh.
Mifflin County will be back in action early Friday afternoon as they will play in a double header against Altoona.
