Juniata boys posts seven in win over Line Mountain
It was another high scoring out put for the Juniata boys soccer team as they defeated Line Mountain 7-2 Thursday.
“There is still a long way to go in the season and many things that we must correct as a team,” said Juniata coach Jared Byler. “We coaches have a lot to evaluate and correct and I believe our team is poised for the challenge of making the corrections.”
The Indians led In the shots on goal by a 30-6 margin.
In corner kicks, Juniata led Line Mountain 7-0.
Line Mountain got the scoring started with a goal at 35:14.
Juniata battled right back at 33:45 when George Hazard picked up a pass by Stuart Dare and sent it through.
Tad Shellenberger gave the Indians the lead with a goal at 29:58.
Dare notched goal number two at 13:34 on an assist by Harper.
Harper scored his first at 2:44 on an assist by Shellenberger.
In second half,
Shellenberger got the scoring started thanks to a pass by Jelvin Cardenas at 26:33.
Juniata struck again at 25:05 thanks to a Jelvin Cardenas goal assisted by Stuart Dare.
Juniata rounded out the scoring at 21:36on a Hazard goal as she was assisted by Ben Wagner.
Line Mountain ended the game scoring at 6:20, making it 7-2.
