Juniata girls break out bats, top EJ in 15-0 win

Final Score: Juniata 15, East Juniata 0. 

MIFFLINTOWN – Juniata has its bats out early and often as it defeated cross county foe East Juniata Softball Thursday, 15-0 in three innings.

Winning Pitcher on the night was hurler Abby Adair. Adair struck out two and allowed just two hits on the afternoon.

The Tigers’ hurler Carlee Barrick took the loss. 

East Juniata got hits from Tiana Terry(1-for-2) and Ashlynn Searer(1-for-2).

Hunter Johns highlighted the Juniata scorecard with a home run while the Indians had numerous multiple hitters on the night.

They were; Mya Rush(2-for-3),Maci Kreider(2-for-3)Kali Foltz(2-for-3)and Olivia Laub(2-3).

Juniata got five doubles in the contest in the win as well.

“Juniata has a solid offensive line-up so going into the game we knew our defense needed to make easy plays,” said East Juniata coach Lauren Maguire. “We had a strong first inning, but errors gave up several unearned runs. I was pleased to see our bats come alive this game, it was unfortunate that ours couldn’t find the holes like Juniata’s did.”

After a scoreless first for both teams, Juniata exploded for seven runs in the second and eight runs in the third to end the game on a 15-run rule.

Next game for East Juniata is Monday at Line Mountain at 4:30.
