Juniata rolls over Susquenita in TVL showdown
The Juniata boys soccer team came out firing Thursday as they defeated Susquenita 9-3.
In the first half, Juniata got its first goal from Henry Montoya when he was assisted by Jelvin Cardenas at
30:29.
At 28:05, Juniata was back at it when Bryce Rush hit on a goal with assist from Jelvin Cardenas.
The goals kept coming from the Indians. At 17:01, Henry Rivas made it 3-0 thanks to an assist by Will Saner.
12:19 Rivas was at again at 12:19 on an assist by Ben Wagner.
Susquenita scored to get on the board but at 4:38 Henry Montoya made it a 5-1 contest at the half as he got a pass from Bryce Rush.
“A well played game by everyone that was on the field. Jelvin Cardenas did a great job distributing the soccer ball this evening and Henry Rivas did a great job finishing the opportunities he was given,” said Juniata coach Jared Byler.
Things continued to roll at 30:35 when Dawson Harper got the Indians back on the scoreboard with assist coming from Bryce Rush.
Susquenita posted consecutive goals, cutting it to 6-3.
However, Saner, Rivas and Dawson all scored to give the Indians the victory.
