Juniata runners have strong showing at PSU indoor meet
Four Juniata track athletes set personal best at State College Indoor Meet #1 held at Penn State University on Thursday, January 9.
Senior Garrett Baublitz led the way with a 1st place finish in the 3,000 meter race. His time of 8:46.99 was a personal best and meets the state qualifying standard. It also sits as PA#1 this Indoor Track & Field season.
Senior Clay Yeager placed 2nd in the mile with a personal best time of 4:37.41. Clay also competed later in the night in the 800. He finished 4th in the race with a time of 2:07.59.
Senior Tad Shellenberger competed in the 400 running a personal best of 55:34 good enough for 11th place.
Junior James Hazard finished 17th in the mile running a personal best with a time of 5:10.49. He later completed in the 3000 meters placing 15th with a personal best time of 10:25.95.
Garrett, Tad, and James will compete at the Kevin Dare Indoor Track & Field Invitational held at Penn State University on Saturday, January 18th. Clay Yeager will be competing at the Virginia Showcase held at Liberty University on Friday, January 17th.
