Juniata tennis squeaks out win over MIfflin County

It was a nail biting tennis match Monday when the tough Juniata team went up against a scrappy group from MIfflin County.

In the end, it would be the Indians that would scratch out the close 3-2 victory.

In the opening match, the Huskies’ number one player Gavin Ream topped Adam French in a marathon match 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.

Juniata’s Gavin Kint defeated Trent Shade 6-0 and 6-4.

The Indians took the final singles match when Jack Strawser defeated Noah Holland 6-0 and 6-0.

Going into the first doubles match, the Juniata combination of Emmett Hibbs and Zach Marshall topped Luke Grove and Gwinn Miller 6-0 and 6-0.

Rounding out the day was MIfflin County’s number two doubles team of Jaron Yoder and Owen Shuey topped Xane Whitesel and Chadwin Fisher 6-2 and 6-1.
