Lady Raiders win third in a row; Tops Huntingdon

The wins keep coming.

Saturday the Bellefonte girls went up against Mountain League foe, Huntingdon.

The Lady Raiders again picked up another win as they topped the Lady Cats 53-39.

With the victory, the Red Raiders improved to 5-7 and are looking to make a run at the post season.

Bellefonte’s High Scorer on the night was Maddie Tice with 17 while teammate Bella Corman chipped in 14.

Huntingdon High Scorer was A. Troup and S. Sellers who both netted nine.

“We played extremely well all four quarters tonight. We did a great job defensively and were able to make shots in the half court,” said Bellefonte coach Marcus Toomer. “It is great to see our continued progress this season and push our win streak to three.”

In the first quarter, Bellefonte opened the game outscoring Huntingdon 14-4.

But in the second, the Bearcats found its scoring touch, outscoring Bellefonte 12-10.

Going into the intermission, Bellefonte led 24-14.

The third period belonged to the Lady Red Raiders as the offense turned it up a notch with a 19-10 showing.

Despite the Lady Cats finishing off the game outscoring Bellefonte 13-10, the night belonged to Bellefonte as it went onto the 14-point victory.
