Lady Trojans outlast West Branch

The Mount Union softball team found themselves in a battle Tuesday in their game against West Branch. But the Lady Trojans would scrap and claw their was to the 8-6 win.

McKenna Shields picked up the win as she went the distance giving up six runs on 10 hits, striking out one and walking three.

Leading the Mount Union offense was Karrigan Woodward went 3-for-4.

Kaden Crisswell finished with a 2-for-4 effort while teammate McKenzie Boozel also finished with a 2-for-4 effort.

The Lady Trojans opened the game with two runs in the first.

West Branch tied things in the second and then went ahead by two, scoring a run in the third and forth, making it 4-2.

Mount Union went back ahead as the posted a 4-run fifth and a 2-run sixth en route to the victory.
