Late Saturday score: Penns Valley tops Mifflinburg in softball action

The Penns Valley softball team got back to its winning ways Saturday as it defeated Mifflinburg 10-4.

As the game was played at Mifflinburg, the Lady Rams was led by winning pitcher Kendra Bumgardner as she finished with nine strikeouts, six walks, and one hit batter.

Penns Valley got out to a 9-1 advantage and never looked back.

The Lady Rams picked up two runs in the first, three in the second and four in the fourth.

Offensively, they pounded out 13 hits led by Allie O’Brien who posted three singles, a run and RBI.

Teammate Avery Dinges had a great day at the plate finishing with a single, double, HR, and three runs scored, an RBI, as well as a stolen base.

Kendra Bumgardner finished with a single, run scored and an RBI

Kailen Winkelblech also shined offensively as she finished with two runs scored and an RBI.

Noelle Webb had a single, double, RBI, and a stolen base.

 Carrying the big bat on Saturday was Avelyn VanHeyst as posted a double, grand slam, a run scored, and four RBIs.

Rounding out the hitting leaders for the Rams was Scotty Dinges who roped two singles, had two runs scored and a stolen base.
