Late Wednesday action: State College matmen fall to tough CV squad

STATE COLLEGE – The State College wrestling team battled but fell Wednesday night to a tough Cumberland Valley squad 40-29. Picking up wins on the night for State College started at 114 when Mason Sanderson held on for a hard fought 3-1 decision over Owen Whittaker. The Little Lions got back on the board at 133. Hayden Cunningham won a by a major decision Gordon Hung, 10-2, cutting the Cumberland Balley lead to 12-7.

At 139, Pierson Manville notched six points for his team pinning Jake Mitchell giving State College the lead at 12-13.

145 – pounder Asher Cunningham took home a 10-0 major decision over Waylon Kitzmiller.

State pulled within a point at 172 – as Carter Weaverling pinned Hadiel Bey.

Rounding out the wins for the Little Lions was 285-pounder Nick Pavlechko as he pinned Anthony Joppy.
