Moving on up! Juniata continues their magical run through the post season

MIFFLINTOWN – The Indians continue to shine bright!

All throughout the year, the Juniata softball team has proven to everyone that they can win the close games as well as the runaways.

There was no let down Monday after the Lady Indians captured their first District 6 championship in team history.

Instead it was back to work to keep their magical season going into the next round.

They did just that holding onto a very nail biting 1-0 victory over Burrell 1-0.

The legend of pitching phenom Liz Gaisior continues to grow as sh dominated in the circle, striking out 18 and only allowing a single hit.

With the win Juniata improves 22-3, while Burrell falls to 14-7.

Offensively, Mackenzie Lyter had a hit to lead off the 5th inning that, along with an error, got her to 3rd base. Cheyenne Kirk then hit pinch runner Kalynn Brown in on a fielder’s choice. Liz, Savannah Marshall, and Shalelyn Armstrong each also added a hit for Juniata.

With the win, the Indians have a match up with Avonworth in the PIAA AAA State Quarterfinals at site TBD at time TBD.
